If you want to learn how to be a bike tour leader, Cycle Tours NSW has options to suit most levels or experience and time availability. There are two broad classifications of Guides; Club Guides and Pro Guides.

Club Guides work on a volunteer basis for the sheer love of cycling and sharing the discovery!

Club Guides help support groups participating in the "Community of Club" rides. Everyone has busy lives, so each guide participates in accordance with their personal availability and in events that suit them and can also specify locations that they can specialise in and travel too. It's all about having FUN!

Pro Guides are paid on a time-basis, are proven professionals recruited from the very best of our Club Guides and support sponsored rides for our paying customers.

Guides' responsibilities increase with experience through 6 different levels, described in broad terms further down.
All guides must grow through the levels starting from level 1 in order to gain the appropriate experience required to ensure the safety of all participating riders and our customers. All guides must carry appropriate riders’ insurance.

All Guides are responsible for rider safety, including assisting riders with mechanical issues, tyre changes and medical emergencies. (Where requested by the client, funded tours also include safety vehicles equipped with emergency medical support.)
