After a week of work there was nothing better than to explore the pristine roads, backwaters and forests north of the city. Just a short half hour drive took us to the start of the ride and from there we were onto winding open roads. We did get a splattering of rain, however this gave way to beautiful rainbows as bursts of sun punched their way through the gaps in the trees, creating corridors of light flickering across our faces as we sped down into the gorges of the Park. Once again thankful that I fitted my new Madone with a 32 point dinner-plate on the back as we climbed back out to reach a peak that rewarded us with lovely views across the estuary. Will be back there soon, for certain!
